I'll firstly agree that the programming on the AVOD is quite a bit stale with the only saving grace the TV shows - a bunch of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Big Bang Theory and even more No Reservations and other documentary shows.

The movie selection was awful (02 Jan 2012 LHR-IAD on 77Q in C) and definitely not even one movie that was interesting...sad.

Secondly, I'll say that all *A must not use the same provider - the movies and shows on SA (IAD-DKR-JNB in C) were much better and obviously everything else in flight was remarkably better than CO/UA.

Even VS had much better programming (movies and shows) on it's 747 in Upper, despite it's clunky interface (with respect to SA/UA) but regarding the content - much better than UA.
