The other thing to bear in mind about the ANA lounge is that it's at the far end of the South Wing from the usual United gates. So you do a little more walking if you're connecting from UA to UA. Even so, I'd certainly head for the ANA lounge.
I've never needed the showers in either, was just going by what others have said. Certainly when it comes to food and drink, ANA>UA in both C and F lounges. If you have the time, it's worth the walk.
