I've reached different results when I try to determine the miles that i need to fly between HKG-SYD.

using the spending avios calculator:

it shows 25 000 avios + 0$ in money not included for one way

Hence, 50 000 avios total

However, when i've tried a mock booking (by selecting direct flights)

it shows that i need 70 000 avios and 400+$ in taxes

can someone help me out and shed some light? thank you
