In the end, I choose to keep my OEM Red Oxx strap and use the superb Sky Train pack straps when schlepping through airports and over cobblestone roads, etc. as the balance is so much better. (I'm 6'4" and a bit smaller, not much, than the OP - my bag gets heavy when it is properly packed).

The Claw also slips less easily from the shoulder than Tom's product, IME.
