I intentionally booked a flight through ATL onto BKK so that I can experience the new 180 degree lie flat 744 for April 4. Now, its on a 77L
I wonder if DL will let me switch to the non-stop out of JFK - NRT so that I can at least stick with the 744??
Sorry, too bad; it is disappointing. They may allow you to change, although any exceptions are becoming less and less common, even for top tier customers. I assume you got a restricted BE ticket (no problem/penalties changing award or full J tickets as long as space is available). Was in a similar situation last summer on a TATL flight, 764 to 767 downgrade, lie-flats to old cradle. Was able to reissue the ticket and pay no penalty (was a nice agent, went to her supervisor, got an approval; you may get lucky. Obviously, nothing you can formally do if they decline -- COC allows DL to swap equipment any time for any reason). More recently, in the Fall on a TPAC trip, a downgrade on both legs from 777 to 332 about a month before the trip, could do absolutely nothing.
No harm in trying, I guess. Good luck!
