I searched one night Jan 30th for fun
the lowest standard rate popped up at $167
The $27 (+$2.72 tax) was disclosed in smaller print underneath the $167
When I clicked through con't here is what I was presented:
Room rate: USD 167.20 USD 167.20
Room rate excludes the following:
Tax: USD 16.84 USD 16.84
10.07 % Per Room / Per Night
Tot/bid Assesme: USD 3.34 USD 3.34
2.00 % Per Room / Per Night
Resort Charge: USD 27.00 USD 27.00
USD 27.00 Per Room / Per Night
Resort Chrg Tax: USD 2.72 USD 2.72
USD 2.72 Per Room / Per Night
Estimated total: USD 217.10 USD 217.10
So I will say its not hidden and anyone who reads anything as they click through should see this charge
on that note, its still pure deception to not make the lowest standard rate anything but $194.20 (167.20 + 27) as this is all hotel revenue and there is no way around it.
Has anyone made a legitimate or convincing arguement as to why this resort charge is an ethical way to portray their rates?
