And their ticket prices are not that high - $100 all in almost last minute during xmas high season is pretty reasonable for a virtual monopoly.

Another very useful attribute of PG is the ability to interline luggage with almost all international carriers for ongoing flights from BKK, as well as processing immigration for international flights at port of origin (such as HKT, USM) - you get a sticker to make the transfer in BKK easy.
