For Economy on such short routes, I guess "great food" might always be impossible, but in my experience, Bangkok Air does serve much better than average food. I've had only a couple flights with them, but prefer them to any other "cheap" carrier on those routes but the legacy carriers (and even then, I would prefer Bangkok Air over Thai on a domestic flight)

Are they profitable? Does anyone know?
