My experience at Toronto of pre-clearance was awful compared to my usually (although not always) okay experiences at EWR, BOS and JFK.

The situation was not helped by the fact that I was carrying a book that the Immigration Officer identified as being mildly subversive (prizes for anyone who can guess!), he then got very pedantic over the form, I was staying at a conference centre that didn't have a street number and he insisted it did and made me go to the back of the line to find it.

After I had called my EA who didn't know and midway through call the Centre itself, I though well it's not like he is sitting there with a gazetteer of all US postal addresses so I just put in a random number and was let through just fine!!
