Just started flying BA in March after years of flying UA. Definitely a MUCH better expereince all round ! As I close in on gold a question about the new membership yesr rules has struck me:

In the old scheme of things you reached gold, the year reset and any subsquent flight earned teir points towards maintaining Gold in the new reset year. What happens now? I should reach gold at the end of my next TATL trip but my year end is July. Are all tier points earned between gaining gold and my membership year end effectively useless in counting towards the following year's requalification? It looks like I will gain about 700 points between qualifying and membership year end. If this is the case, I much preferred the instant reset of year so that all points are valuable.
