I'm confused. Why isn't the benefits of being plat (upgrades, welcome points, ect) worth staying after 50 nights? I'm puzzled why everybody wants to get the plat status and then switch to somewhere else for the remainder of the year in order to get status there as well.
Some of us wander off a bit in order to maintain status in multiple programs so that no matter where we are, we have a good array of hotel options at our disposal that reward our loyalty.
