RSS = RDF Site Summary, or colloquially, Really Simple Syndication.

In terms that I understand (i.e. a techie will squirm at)...it sucks the information off the webpage and delivers it to your email program (e.g. Outlook, Lotus Notes) or RSS reader.

Benefits:
- updates automatically
- you can have a number of "feeds" (websites) coming into the same place
- it's more discreet on a work computer than FT page
