Was hoping to start flying Jet with all the troubles KF is going through.

But their new baggage policy for International travel is too restrictive if the Jet ticket is issued as a separate ticket, even though on the same itinerary.

They tell me if I fly from AUS -> BOM and then take a connecting flight to BLR from there even within a couple of hours, I am still allowed to check-in only 20Kg without paying excess fees. At least for me, a US->India trip can not be done with such a low allowance.

So I had to resort back to KF and keep my fingers crossed. Good thing is I am a bit flexible on the days I am traveling.

I have searched the forum, but did not find anything, sorry if I missed an earlier post.

Anyone else thinks this is insane? Just sent the following mail to guest relations, but I do not think they will give it a care.

Dear Jet Airways,


As part of the new year I was hoping to make Jet my preferred carrier for domestic travel in India.


I had a ticket booked until couple of day ago with the following segments:


AUS-BOM-AUS (Continental)


And on Jet Airways:

BOM->BLR

BLR->HYD->RJA

VGA->HYD->BLR and

BLR-> BOM


As you can see that is a lot of travel, however I had to cancel the ticket and rebook on KingFisher for the following reason.


Your new baggage policy states that I can only take 20KG check-in luggage as my travel agency booked these as separate tickets although it is on one itinerary. I am pretty sure many corporate travelers would be subject to this.


My connections were all within 24 hours of international flights, but your agents confirmed that I will be only allowed to check-in 20Kg of luggage without paying extra.


20Kg is nothing for people traveling from US->India and this policy makes it impossible for me to chose Jet for any of my travels.


Because of this, even though you are the superior airline and all the issues KF is going through, I still had to pick them instead of you.


I hope you reconsider this insane baggage policy and revise it to honor the international allowance for connecting flights within a few hours of international flight.


BTW I picked you first although I have earned my Gold status with KingFisher last year. I really wanted to make the change this year but this policy is too incovenient to ignore.
