I have googled it but no explanation forthcoming!
It's something like this:
Week 1
Monday morning - LHR > JFK on ticket 1
Tuesaday afternoon - JFK > LHR on ticket 2
Week 2
Monday morning - LHR > JFK on ticket 2
Tuesday afternoon - JFK > LHR on ticket 1
So ticket 1 is LHR > JFK > LHR
and ticket 2 is JFK > LHR > JFK
It's sometimes used to avoid the 'Saturday night' rule and ensure you get cheaper tickets even though you're doing day trips.
