What's the attraction for this W besides superior location?

It's an old building, in need of some renovation, and my room was exceptionally drab. Not at all like other W hotels I've experienced.

Combine a great location with inferior physical plant and the "don't give a damn" staff, and I swear you have the Westin Paris near Place de la Concorde all over again, packaged in NYC clothing.
