The beaches are EMPTY (unless you stay at the over-priced/over-crowded Ritz-Carlton), there are LOADS of accommodation choices right on the beach, there are US-style supermarkets, restauarants, bars, diners, even an Indian restuarant.
Absolutely no "bad" elements of Caribbean culture, which you might find elsewhere.
I won't have to worry about hotels, fortunately. But I will have to attempt to rescue him from his descent into ex-pat alcoholism !
