Since BA made their Avios points "simpler" I'm afraid this type of reward has actually become very much harder. There's no simple, straightforward correlation between the number of AA miles and the number of BA points required; AA has a blanket US-Caribbean rate, while BA charges whatever their mileage calculator says, which is apparently on a sector-by-sector basis and means, for example, ATL-DFW-PLS would probably be different from ATL-MIA-PLS. The only solution I know of is to work your way patiently through a group of possible destinations using ba.com, remembering that shifting a few days may change the available reward seats and therefore the number of miles required.
