taxes/fees isn't bad actually.

They are just confusing. There was a redemption story on the A3 forum where the agent repriced the taxes/fees from everything between something like $500 and $30 if I remember correctly. It takes patience, but you can get what you want.

The award rates are decent too.

However, you simply cannot beat US Airways at redemptions, no matter where you go...
