That is my interpretation as well, however a posting in the 'Diary of a Euro-Cheat' thread (post #372) suggests that some are being told by BA that they need to have reached status by Feb 1st, not March 1st...

I hope there is some miscommunication and the date really is March 1st (as stated on the BA website), as I have a gold qualifying flight in the middle of Feb.
