I live 21 miiles north of Birmingham so don't normally stay in the City, during Festive Period stayed at CP Birmingham for Office Parties etc.

Additional Points:

Stay 1 : Executive room Floor (11) : Good Size room, and on the same floor as the club lounge. Club Lounge is open at earlier times than most : 5:30 until 7:30 for free drinks. They also put an assistant in the lounge due to recent guests helping themselves to Full Bottles of wine for in room entertainment. Breakfast in Room was prompt. I did have a few problems with checking in, but nothing major.

Stay 2: Suite Floor (10) : They have two suites in the hotel, they are excellent size and very well thought out. Rate was only £116.00 for the evening. They are on the floor below the club lounge. Excellent bathroom. No problems checking in and received platinum vouchers.

Platinum Benefits : Due to rooms booked no upgrade available on each visit. They issue you with a Platinum Voucher booklet. This contains : 1 free drink (up to 2 people) at the bar, 15% off food purchases, 1 complimentary free in-room movie and free internet access.

They do not always give you this, (they do always have them), so a polite reminder may be required on check-in.

Location is next to Alpha Tower, just up from Mail box in Birmingham, and 3 minutes from Broad Street. Since the demolition of the old CP (You will see the foundation/old lower floor next to the new hotel). The area outside the hotel is like a wind tunnel, so expect blown umberellas, even if the rest of the town is not windy. Nothing to do with the hotel but just a general tip.

Also the one revolving door is automatic, the other is manual, so remember which one to push when you exit/enter.

Bar is semi-built into reception area and acts as a buffer between resteraunt and reception. Resteraunt used on the 2nd visit, average/good food and with the 15% off voucher reasonable price. They have strong competition with the Mailbox onlt 5 minutes walk away. The tables look a bit small, we had one of the booths that had plent of space.
