As someone who spent most of my life living there, I can say for certain that Pollokshields has no c in it.
You're not wrong about it being a bit on the quiet side, but it is becoming a little livlier - while I was up over Christmas, I visited The Bungo Bar - which was mobbed with people who looked like they'd been airlifted in from Byres Road.
