Thanks so much for these great CA suggestions. My family and I were able to visit CA for the week, staying in hotels using only Marriott points. This is good!

Marriott Marquis in SD was a highlight. Great views, pool and service. Even ate at Roy's restaurant on the property an extra and unexpected bit of fun.

Stayed also at a Marriott Residence Inn in SD, the only upgrade of the week. Kids very much enjoyed.

JW Marriott in Palm Desert was a disappointment in several ways. May post details in a later post.
