Appears the first ones snuck in around March. Lacking great resistance, they've now been added to almost all routes (NRT and GRU being the exceptions I can see at first glance, and yeah, I know why those two stand out).

It is part of the plane. If noone sits in it, it still being flown to the destination.

- either that or that it makes up a smaller portion of a J fare, so those buyers would be unlikely to complain.
If so, make it part of the J fare.

I thought YQ was called the "Fuel Surcharge".

One more reason to use eUpgrades instead of paying for J.
But if you get a business reward, you are paying extra. And it is not for fuel.

The Business YQ is more so that the ticketing carrier can collect more money in an underhanded and sneaky way.
