When did AC start charging a higher YQ for J vs Y?

Visible on flights to SYD -- 700 vs 500 from YYC, for instance. 600 if you mix J and Y on a return trip.

Is this designed to pass pure profit to AC ("the ticketing carrier") from redemptions of O seats within the "alliance of YQ charging airlines"?

Or are the people sitting up front considered heavier?
