Was anyone on DL 2042 EWR-ATL on 12/23? Apparently a lady threw a fit over Delta protecting her son from his peanut allergy and came close to causing the flight to be diverted.

This link http://www.w4je.com/scanaudio.htm has the audio of the capt's discussion with Dispatch (unfortunately it only has the flight side of the audio and not the ground side). I am really curious to hear how it went from another pax point of view.

Prior to boarding she asked the capt to prohibit peanuts on the flight. He responds saying policy is that they will request those within 3 surrounding rows to abstain although he actually went so far as to ask those within 6 rows to refrain.

Apparently, during the flight this wasnt good enough for her and she became quite agitated, threatened the FA and demanded the capt come out of the flight deck to speak with her. further hijinks ensued.

The best part of this is her DYKWIA attitude - especially considering her seat location....

seems the crew handled it well.
