Less spend here, but I called up the other day and was passed from orig. customer service rep to retention department. Did not threaten to close account, just told rep that I was budgeting spending next year and was not eager to pay $450 annual fee, especially now that Continental/United is not a program partner. Was offered $400 statement credit. Asked for MR miles and was offered 50,000 which I accepted.
