Photography / photograph / videography restrictions on AA (consolidated)

Hi,

I just flew AA293 DEL-ORD in J on the 1st, and I was looking forward to taking a bunch of photos for a trip report I am planning to write. When I arrived at the check in counter, I took an awful photo of the J check in, at which point there was the following conversation:

Employee: Sir, photography is not allowed. If you have taken any photos, please delete them all at this time.

Wow. What a spiel

Me: Photography at Indian airports has been allowed since 2005.

Employee: It's our rule, sir

Me: Whose rule?

Employee: American Airlines

Later, on the aircraft, i was snapping away. I made it to about row 11 before an FA ran up to me and told me that "for security purposes, photography is not allowed". I asked wither this ban was on the ground or at all- not allowed at all!

On AA 292, I had a photographic odyssey, with one FA going as far as to pose for the camera and offering to take photos (thank you, Merry!) But when I told the FA, she said "I don't know, maybe you had a special relationship with the FA"-I think not. Later, she showed me a tiny passage in the back of the American Way magazine which said that unauthorized photography of pax, FAs, and equitment was not allowed. The ban on fellow people is understandable, the ban on equipment is not. I mean, photography of the cockpit door is one thing, but photographing seats? Really? I know it is there aircraft, but it kind of makes me angry that I was unable to photograph the seat in detail.
Has AA ever heard of airliners.net? Ever read trip reports? The great secret of the cabin's appearance is out

FYI, I'm not exactly a shady looking person- I'm still in high school

Cheers (sorry if this is the wrong forum)
