I am (much to WhitePlains suprise .....) posting to simply say I do understand his warning which I know to be both well informed and very well intentioned.

We had an exchange on this topic some time ago and I took considerable umbridge at what I considered to be the inappropriateness of his post. He was patient with my postings and the exchange was pretty heated.

However I do have an awfully open mind and feel no embarrassment about changing my mind so I did as he requested and read much more fully into the Singapore situation with respect to the automatic presumption of guilt followed by an automatic death penalty for what in other countries might be considered quantities of drugs for persona possession - and the risks to people if they are found to be in possession of these small amounts. It is an alalrming and dangerous situation to be in and should be avoided at all costs. It is the downside of Singapore being such a wonderful law-abiding and safe place to be.

Since reading and thinking quite a lot about it I have changed my mind and think it wholly decent for him to simply remind people of this small risk particularly if they are thinking about entrusting their luggage to anyone whilst at the airport.

Personally I would now not leave my luggage at Changi airport for any reason whatosever.
