Thanks. This is exactly what happened - agent asked for the card, then handed it back and checked me in.

Now, I'm not sure what would have happened if the card had been lost or stolen (and therefore not in my possession). I'm guessing that I could have called them and had them transfer the charges to a different card (and refund the charges to the old card).
