I've once been told by the on business team that you can either have a BA FF flyer number or the On Business number and not both. I'm quite disappointed by the level of service and knowledge of the On-Business team.
You'll receive the appropriate OB points AND your Avios and tier points for the 'cash' element of any booking as long as you've put your details into the booking. I have found that the system doesn't always recognise both all the time and so I use MMB to make sure that both OB and exec number are re-submitted.
And even if this doesn't work as has sometimes happened to me, you can always make a claim using the claim missing points link.
My own experience on contacting the OB team has always resulted in getting points added so no problems there.
