dearest male linder: I disagree. Go to a Notre Dame, Penn State or Ohio State football game and you see rabidity.
Since you only mention the faithfulness of Dawg fans to the football team, I will not go over my trip to Hec Ed for a UO/UW game. I will say that I remained unscathed at a UO/UW game at Husky Stadium, where I waved a
"Huck the Fuskies" sign. Even after explaining to some purple and gold folks what the sign meant!
