mecca...

also...I don't think the Pacific Northwest is *that* much
more civilized than the rest of the US. (I've lived there,
I know.) So don't LYAO too hard...

Generally speaking, people are nice in the NW;
however, if you're an outsider, people can be really
mean: more so in Seattle than in Portland. Some of
the most malevolent people I've encountered (as an
"outsider") were in Seattle, not New York. (This is just
my personal experience...I'm not trying to start a
NY vs. Seattle thing.)
