I agree. I've been four times and will be back again in March. Other than the military, the island's economy is based on tourism. Most locals work in the service industry for Federal minimum wage. I will say they're some of the nicest people I've ever met. I wouldn't recommend Guam unless you have to go there though.
Anyway, my sources tell me the Marriott has not been renovated.
PS ~ I always stay at the Hilton.
