The odds are against it, but there may come a time when they put effort into saving your tush ahead of protecting their own. Their colleagues were the first to die on 9/11. I always make time to watch their demo for no other reason than to show my respect for what they may be called upon to sacrifice.
I completely agree with you. I have great respect and admiration for the Delta FAs (best among US carriers) and I am fully aware that they are there primarily for our safety.
And you are correct - FAs have shown extraordinary and exemplary heroism in terrorist and other incidents in the air, certainly on 9/11, but in several other similar situations, including the greatest sacrifice made by Pan Am flight attendant Neerja Bhanot.
