drzoidberg, another great review!
Unfortunately, BMW's are not in any rental car fleet in Australia at the moment - hopefully that will change, but I'm not holding my breath! The last rental fleet they were in was the Thrifty fleet a few years ago, but they were only base 320i and 523i. I drove the 523i and thought it was great - fantastic handling, great brakes, quiet, but needed more power and interior wasn't great - not worth the nearly AUD100K they cost! Only marginally better than a Commodore SV6 (Pontiac G8), which is less than half the price and bigger! Expensive rental too - AUD160 for a day! Hertz had BMW's too, but many years ago. They had Z4's too.
How does the 328i compare to the C300 for legroom and headroom? Generally?
I hate that plastic fake wood trim BMW and Audi still use! Glad Merc don't seem to use it anymore.
How did you find the 6 speed auto? Interestingly, it's actually a GM box! Built in France.
You seem to like luxury rather than performance/handling ... I'll take performance/handling over luxury!
