What I have seen more of these days, however, is people next to me, or nearby, clearly not turning off their phones/ipads/kindles, etc. but putting them in sleep mode. Which is not supposed to be allowed either, but how can the crew really tell? And as a pax seeing this, what is the right thing to do in this situation? Telling an FA almost feels like a kid tattling.



There is obviously concern of interference if it is a FAA regulation. Why can't one simply abide by the rule? And why can't many people seem to see the beneficial side of not being allowed to have your phone on for a few hours sometimes?
