I've seen references to both Amex Platinum and Citi Exec but no direct comparisons. I have targeted invites for both and obviously would liek to choose only one. I prefer AA miles so that leans in the Citi Exec direction, but do veterans here have a preference? I note many posts mention having the Platinum card and very few seem to recommend Citi. Is platinum better for overseas travel? Since there are fewer Admirals clubs overseas, does that make Platinum a better lounge access card? I'm guessing you can use Platinum's $200 credit for baggage checking on American, but that would be only four round trips. On the other hand, assuming I hit Gold on AA soon, there would be no baggage charge, so that would make Citi Exec less appealing. What do the veteran travellers say?
