I hear if you book 1-2 nights at a paid rate and then the put the remaining nights on an award, they'll give you minibar access for the entire trip. But I cannot 100% confirm this, so YMMV.

To get around the mini-bar, we took the free ferry ride over to the le Moana and walked about 1/2 mile down to a grocery store. We picked up a bottle of dark Tahitian rum, beer and some wine which was perfect for the trip. All in the trip to the grocery cost us about $125 USD.
