You know, I may have misspoke above--I re-read the post and he was talking about a CZ domestic flight. My brain was stuck on "international" (intra-Asia route assumed) where the excess basis is 1.5% of full econ fare per kilo, which is definitely not cheap! I'm not sure what the CZ basis is for excess on domestic flights.
