Compensation for spilled coffee

Hi

When I was flying November 27 from Del to FRA connecting to SFO on the DEL-FRA flight the AH spilt coffee on my jeans. She did apologise and half an hour before deplaning she came and gave me a 25 dollar voucher for Lufthansa. The voucher says I can use it on future travel/duty free or send a dry cleaning bill to Lufthansa. Anything like this ever happen to anyone and what was the typical compensation.

The crunch was that my connecting flight was on UA metal even though booked by Lufthansa. I wasnt sure if I could have used the Lufthansa voucher on the United Flight to buy some duty free souveneirs. Am flying back in Jan so would be good to know.

Also I was seated on the very last seat on the plane and I was given an Asian Vegeterain Meal before anyone was served even though I hadnt ordered one (I am very non-vegeterian) but the tofu steak looked interesting so I tried it. Question is were they trying to be nice to me by sending a strange meal and seating me at the last row. The last row does have only 2 seats on one side of the aisle with good legspace. I am confused

BTW Lufthansa connecting desk would not talk to me as the BP given to me in DEL was for UA from FRA-SFO(even though the entire booking was via Lufthansa) I wanted to ask about an earlier connection (one LH flight did take off for SFO while I was waiting at the gate ) but no response. I was asked to go to the UA desk which was not staffed at that hour (early morning) End result I did a 5 over layover with coffee drenched jeans.

I would have thought connecting me to an earlier flight would have been a much better way to say sorry than a 25 dollar voucher.
