I tried it years ago (1K at the time) sitting with 2 more passengers on the same flight (didn't know them but since they were also running asked them) on the moon buggy from the A gates to the C gates. No dice, all 3 of us saw the jet bridge still attached to the plane but the door was closed.
I called the 1K line and asked them to contact the gate that we are 10 minutes out right after we got off our incoming Messy Airlines flight.
They would not even reopen the door.

Not so sure they would do that for a GS either. I know about holding planes for a GS proactively but never tried or know anybody that actively called. Never tried after my experience above again. Curious myself since I might try it one more time :-).
