Anyone with more insight as to 1) why it was cancelled? 2) where is the plane coming from? I guess that could be the reason 3) any good alternatives? I will have to wait 5+ hrs at SFO tomorrow for the next UA flight to SAN as I am connecting from UA901 from Frankfurt.
Sorry about that bad news, I hope something works out. I have had this happen to me once before as well out of SFO. I was delayed about 12 hours until I got another flight, but I never asked how they could cancel a flight so far in advance due to weather.

I know that doesn't help solve the problem, but it does validate this has happened before.
