We are 7 people--2 elites--I booked 7 seats together under my record and chose seating together.
And you thought AA knew what it was doing?
If only one of the 4 (AA upgraded 2 elites and 2 companions) remained in coach, the preferred seating for the other 3 would still have been lost. With only one elite upgrading, that would have been only 2 upgrades - the elite and one companion.
