I agree it would have been nice to know this could happen but still seems logical.
So if only 3 of us upgrade and we leave one elite in coach they all keep their seats.
But by giving AA more money so that all 4 of us upgrade the other 3 lose their seats.
Makes perfect sense to me???
I could understand if we were on different flights---but 7 people with the same last name flying together on the same flight??
