! As far as I know if you buy direct from QA and many on-line TA's you get 23 KG as the designated weight allowance and then its left at the discretion of the Check in Agent as to whether they allow more or not. £8 per KG adds up

.
However Southall Travel seem to be the only TA that have a contract with QR to officially allow 30KG on the Tkt.
So for my last booking I paid about £25 cheaper with Southall Travel (using the quidco offer as a bargaining tool) and got 10 Kg extra (plus 15kg Extra for Silver) than if I had booked directly with QR.
I would interested to hear from others about any experiences they have with weight allowance

I also use Southall for this extra weight allowance (only for my mother as she needs it while i don't), but I have also had higher weight allowance from other agents and also reduced allowances too (should have been 23kg but they have reduced it to 20kg). If you ask the TA's they can sometimes give you a higher weight allowance... 30kg with QR is common while we have had 40kg on EK.
Thanks for the advise about using quidco to knock down the price with a TA.
