"Farther" means physical distance: Mary lives farther away from us than James. "Further" means mental distance: Nothing could be further from the truth. The same is true for the other forms: Mary's house is the farthest away from home I've ever been; and, That is the furthest thing from the truth.
Yes I know, it was a conscious choice to make the title of thread more mellifluous. The correct word was used in the body of the post.
BTW - It should be "diction" correction not "grammar" correction. Grammar refers to sentence construction: diction to word choice.
