The Sheraton is decidedly not renovated, but the Club Lounge is also very nice, with fantastic views and nearly-as-good service.
I did get a suite at the Sheraton. At the Hyatt, I couldn't get any upgrade, even trying to apply my Diamond Suite Upgrades six months-plus in advance.
The Sheraton is a better location if you want the beach. If you're taking the bus to work downtown (me!), the Hyatt is better, off the beach.
Overall, expect slightly better service, more "elegance" and slicker facilities at the Hyatt. More tourists at the Sheraton.
Thanks I'm going to go with the Hyatt then. I also just overlooked the rate and both include breakfast so it seems like a no brainer now.
