So hang up your towel after your shower for once and straighten your own bed. What are those services worth, anyway? When I do long hotel stays, I specifically request housekeeping NOT come every day because it is a waste of time, money and effort, I don't really care if I am "paying" for it.

I doubt the hotel gives key personnel (maintenance, front desk, parking) off, either - a totally closed hotel, maybe a bill adjustment. No maids for a day? Not so much.
