Strange Seating Group
I am flying with my family on an award ticket purchased by my mom who is a platinum in Continental. She purchased the flights through Continental but they are all on UA metal. I am a Premier Exec on United.
I just checked in for the two-leg flight (through my account on United) and the first of my boarding passes says Premier Exec and the second says Seating Area 2. This would not be a big deal except that due to the nature of the second flight (big plane, very crowded), I'd really rather board as early as possible. We are all seated in normal economy as Econ+ was sold out when we booked and I would have left it that way anyway as I'd prefer that we all sit together and two of the seats would not have been able to upgrade.
Anyone know why I would have one boarding pass one way and the other another?
If I do get things fixed, does my family get to board with me if we are all on the same itinerary?
I will check at the airport in the morning, but the first leg is out of a small airport and it's one of those where the desk reps also help with lots of the flight prep details so they often don't have time to deal with these kinds of details.
