Do you think QR should review On-Board Alcohol Selection?
I've been flying QR more regularly lately and have been largely pleased with the on-board service and the hard product as well.
While it's hard to fault the on-board service, I've come to be rather let down by the alcohol served on-board. I do appreciate that Qatar is a Muslim country and understand the laws regarding alcohol in the country. However, I'm not requesting a change in alcohol policy, just that a better assortment be offered on-board.
For example in Y, JW Red is simply too appalling a selection to be offered as the staple whisky on-board. EK does Chivas 12 (which QR serves in C) as well as Glenfiddich 12, amongst other brands of whiskies.
Also the eau de vie served - some brand of armagnac - would be much better if replaced with a cognac. Otard VSOP, served on other airlines, would be a much better alternative.
In C, perhaps QR could out do EK and serve Glenfiddich 18, or Royale Salute.
On the ground, EK has a large assortment of alcohol including Moet in the silver and gold lounges in DXB. As alcohol is not offered in DOH silver and gold lounge, I really hope QR can improve the alcohol selection on-board.
What do you guys think? Should QR improve the alcohol selection?
